In the past, the idea of leaving your dog in a dog boarding facility may have made you think of a drab, dreary animal shelter environment or even a jail-like environment where the dogs are locked up, bored, and lonely. At IAPP, we strive to provide an environment that is far from the typical boarding environment.
We want our home to be your dog’s home away from home! There are so many benefits to boarding your dog in-home, and today we’d like to share some of our top reasons for choosing a facility that is based in a licensed home environment.
Georgia State Licensing
Georgia's Department of Agriculture Companion Animal Program employs a professional workforce dedicated to the education, regulation, and licensing of anyone who sells, breeds, trains, boards, grooms, rescues, or shelters companion animals or equines. Being a licensed in-home dog care facility insures that the facility is regularly inspected and is following all the guideline set out by the states governing agency. In Georgia, you can look-up kennel licensing at https://agr.georgia.gov/search-licenses
The comforts of home
First and foremost, with in-home dog boarding, your dog will have all the typical comforts of home when staying with us. We have kennels for the dogs to sleep in at night so they can’t get themselves into trouble, but throughout the day, the dogs have access to roam our huge dog suite and our securely fenced-in yard with over an acre of land to run and play on!
Additionally, because we are at home, your dog will likely feel like they are just visiting friends or family rather than feeling like they are going to the vet or a traditional boarding facility. Some of these other environments can be stressful for dogs, and that is the last thing we want them to experience while they are with us.
You won't come back to find that your dog is no longer outdoor potty trained
Boarding your dog in a run or kennel based facility encourages the dog to "GO" where they are because they don't have a choice. This can quickly become a bad habit your dog is forced to learn, depending on the length of stay. We at IAPP give many outdoor potty breaks to all of our guests and we give even more outdoor potty breaks to our guest puppies no matter rain or shine.
A limited number of dogs
Because we are an at-home dog boarding facility, we only have the capacity to take in a certain number of dogs at a time. There won’t be dozens of dogs competing for resources or attention. And your pup will get the special love, attention, and care they deserve! Your pup will also be able to make new friends without getting overwhelmed by a huge number of dogs!
There is always a human present
Another benefit of in-home dog boarding is that someone will always be here with your dog. Where some overnight dog boarding facilities may lock up for the night and come back in the morning, we are here 24/7.
Unlimited playtime
Your dog is guaranteed to have so much fun here! As we mentioned, we have an acre of backyard space for our dog to play in. Group playtime is unlimited, so your dog can play for as long as they want or as many times as they want throughout the day!
We have all sorts of toys to play with, as well as agility equipment like ramps and bridges for them to run across and tunnels for them to run through! And we have a lovely back porch where they can take a snooze in the shade or lay out and get some sun!
We truly love your fur babies
And finally, one of the best reasons to choose IAPP Dog Care an in-home boarding facility is because we will love your fur baby like our own! In fact, our own dogs are quick to welcome any new dog to our pack, too! So you can rest assured that your pup will be getting all the love from our family while you are away.
